The cup cake dress
I insist, it's spring
Although there is still snow outside of my window
I couldn't resist
The eager to make something
Fresh & Fun
So this is it
I really wish V could model it
It will look SO much better on her
But we have to wait for the real spring
Or summer
Sigh*
What's it feels like at your place?
It's currently 40F ... Still a jacket weather ...

Quick Bib Tutorial -Recyled from oneies
I love recyle
Esp. baby/kids cloth
They out grow everything SO fast
I love to see things shine in their second life
And I also love to save money
If you too love to do that
Here is a quick tutorial
1. Fold shirt/oneies in half and cut along the line
2. Fix it to the shape you like
3. Turn right side together and sew the top line
4. Add a water prove lining (optional)
5. Sew a bias type along the edge (Add 5-6" on each side depend on your toddler's age)
All done!

This was Victoria at10 months
7 month later
I finally decided that she is never going to fit into that
No matter how much I like to see her wearing it
So I found another way to have her wearing it
I love to see things shine in their second life

A dress for spring
Another snow storm
12" within 24 hours
Feels like winter is all over again
After the nice break last week
So I was snowed in
No work means more sewing
And the only thing I can do to escape the snow
Is sewing something Springish
Here is what it looks so far
This is a Simplicity pattern
DH picked it up for me
I am not completely in love with it
...
What can I do to add that blink???
Also, The waste line is little too big for V
Hmmm... how do I fix that?!
Although...
It is THE perfect print for Eastern, isn't?
It's got the colors, eggs and bunny rabbits
I just have to figure something out
xoxo,Anne

Farm house play set
You guys know I am new at sewing right
So for newbies, it's all about trying things out
Here is one of the things I've been trying
A mini travel farm house play set
And, it folded like this
Didn't come out too bad
The only thing I need revise is the pocket size
If I had bought the animals earlier...
Yes, I bought those little stuffed animals
Because they are only 49 cents at IKEA
The fabric is the ANNOMOA collection from IKEA
Priced at $7.99 a yard
This cute little house is a piece of scrap
I got a yard of fabric and made
3 9"x9" art work and a pillow
And this ...
Although I am not totally in love with it
I think it will be fun for V to play with in her car seat
xoxo,Anne

Mindless cutting & organizing
It is indeed February
I know a lot of people had done fabulous jobs
Organizing their home & life
But,I, feel bad about not being very productive lately
So, I decided it's time to go through Victoria's closet
Instead of my sewing piles
The result?
I found myself a bin full of sleepers & onesies
A bin full of memories, possibilities and joyfulness
I decided to cut them down to those 4" squares
Who knows what would they be?
I feel better for not throwing them away
Or pile them up somewhere
I know I will use them now
And, instead of thinking how to alter each one of them
I now just need one project
Right?

Kimono wrap sew along
I promised myself that I will get the home work done
Today ...
Oh, well...
Ever since I became a mom
My priority has changed, you know
Not that V needs another PJ or top
I just can't resist making something for her
So here it is
The Rachel Wrap sew along result
The longer sleeve version
It looks slightly different than Jess's version
(Well, we all suppose to be creative, aren't we?)
It's so cold here
I have to alter the sleeve longer
Also made the shirt longer for V
Because ... although she is in 15% of her weight range
She is 95% in her height range
Which means she out grow her stuff, FAST
I used the cozzy fannel
Which I stocked on black Friday at $1/y last year
So, V can wear it during the day & to sleep
I am saving this for our Water park weekend
At Great Wolf
This coming week
And V will be modeling it!
Can't wait for her to wear it to the story time
And, wake up in those yummy dun nuts!

Sweet pink pillows cases
I've been wanting to update my summerish pillows
Since...
Well, last summer
I just had to join it
After all
I love pillows
& I love parties
What's not to love?
Here is what I came up with
For my baby girl's room of course
(I might have to steal it for the big V day
Since it's sooooo sweet)

Little bit ruffle
Some flowers
How can it not be girl's favorite?
Besides
Besides
It is so easy to make ...
Credits & resources
I used this Envelope pillow cover video & this tutorial for the ruffle flowers

My 2011 to do list & challenges
New year, new start, new list
For this coming year
I want to do something

Aside from being with my family
I want to

try more different things
complete more projects
So, here is ...
My 2011 sewing wish do list (incomplete)
I am not ignoring the reality party of life
Although,
It's not equally as fun
I will try to
